Zoning Appeals

Board of Zoning Appeals.

The BZA operates under the authority of Ohio Revised Code Section 713.11. The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) is judiciary in nature with the authority to hear and decide the following:

  • A request for variance from a Zoning Code requirement.
  • A request for a Conditional Use Permit.
  • An administrative appeal of a Zoning related finding.

The BZA meets on the third Wednesday each month at 6:00 pm at Albany Village Hall and as-needed. All meetings and Hearings are open to the public with dates posted in advance as required by law. Dates can be found on the Village Calendar here.

The BZA’s decision is final and, under Ohio law, may only be appealed in the Athens County Court of Common Pleas.
