Water-Sewer Service: The Village operates its own municipal water and sanitary sewer systems. Sewer charges are based upon water consumption. The Utility Billing Office is located at Albany Village Hall, 5153 Alton Street. Office hours: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (8:00 a.m.-noon on Fridays). Water bills may be paid online, in person, at our drop box, at the Hocking Valley Bank in Albany, or by mail. To report a water or sewer problem, call (740) 698-6127. After hours EMERGENCIES only, call the Albany Village Administrator at (740) 590-1911.
New Customers: ALL new customers must submit a completed application with a security deposit before service is turned on. For additional information visit Albany Village Hall or the Water Department website today
Garbage Service: The Village of Albany does not regulate which trash hauler you choose to use (a list of companies can be found above) however regular service is required for all residents and businesses. Empty trash cans must be removed from curbside by midnight of the day of pickup.
Gazebo: The community gazebo at the Village Park may be used for your party or event on a first-come-first-served basis.
Village Council: Meets on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month, 6:30 p.m., at Albany Village Hall, 5153 Alton Street.
U.S. Post Office: The post office is located at 5303 Washington Road, (740) 698-3241
Banking: The Albany branch of the Hocking Valley Bank is located at 5322 Washington Road. (740) 698-4444.
Zoning: Zoning Certificates are required before beginning any new construction or change of use. A Zoning Certificate is required for, but not limited to, new buildings, additions, and swimming pools. For details, contact the Village Administrator’s office, (740) 698-6127.
Brush: Brush pickup is traditionally provided twice per year in the spring and fall. Specific dates will be posted online and on our Facebook page. Brush piles cannot be tied or exceed 4′ by 4′ in size. Failure to follow these simple rules will result in a lack of pickup. We WILL NOT collect entire trees or bushes. Contact the Department of Public Works, (740) 698-6127 for additional information.
